United Narions Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). By learning about the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, students will understand in a tangible way the importance of the 17 goals in their daily lives and in the global community.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal set of 17 integrated goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a shared blueprint to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all people by the year 2030.
The 17 SDGs address various global challenges. These goals include ending poverty, achieving zero hunger, promoting good health and well-being, ensuring quality education, and striving for gender equality. The goals also cover clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, and industry, innovation, and infrastructure. Further goals aim to reduce inequalities, create sustainable cities and communities, and encourage responsible consumption and production. Climate action, life below water, and life on land are also key areas. The goals emphasize peace, justice, and strong institutions, and the importance of partnerships to achieve these objectives.
More information, including specific targets and indicators for each goal, can be found on the official UN Sustainable Development Goals website

India's efforts towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are tracked through the SDG India Index and Dashboard, which measures progress on 16 of the 17 UN goals. As of 2024, India's overall score improved to 71, with significant progress in areas like clean water, sanitation, affordable energy, and poverty reduction. The country has also seen a recent improvement in its global standing, ranking 99th out of 167 countries in the 2025 SDG Index
